MILITARY DIOCESES
Apart
from the Papal Nunciatures and other diplomatic offices around the world, the
most obvious presence of the Church in the life of a state, secular or
otherwise, is the Military Diocese. These organisations, generally encompassing
the boundaries of an entire country, operate like any other diocese --- save
that their members are simply the Catholics of that countryıs armed forces. For
the secular state, at worst, these ordinariates are purveyors of superstition
that assist their communicants to fight well --- something all governments
love, no matter how much they despises the nation in general. For the Church herself,
of course, these bodies allow her to assist those who are most in harmıs way.
At its best, the Military Diocese is truly a noble institution.
